This biography covers the life of Morton J. Rubin from his birth on 15 May 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to his untimely death on 10 April 2004 in Washington, District of Columbia. It details his family's history and his education at Pennsylvania State University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He spent his early years working as a meteorologist in Peru and Chile for Pan American Grace Airways. He later joined the U.S. Weather Bureau as a research scientist whose specialty was Southern Hemisphere weather conditions, especially the climate in Antarctica where he had made many trips. He spent 15 months during the International Geophysical Year as the only American wintering over with the Russians at their base in Mimy. He ended his career in Geneva, Switzerland as a research scientist with the World Meteorological Organization. The biography contains over one hundred photographs, mainly taken in Antarctica.
